Restaurant changes hands

Enterprising restaurateur Jo Robinson recently acquired the lease to Parklands Restaurant in Ohakune and has big plans for the business. Mrs Robinson took over officially on 13 July from former leaseholder Franz Brandl, who is now at the Hobbit. She relinquished her lease of the Lovin' Spoonful restaurant earlier this year. Mrs Robinson said she intends to run the business on a month to month basis and aims to cater for locals. She is keen to branch out and introduce some new meals to Parklands' menu that at present consists of basic hearty meals. She maintains that her portions are the same generous size that patrons have become accustomed to at Parklands. The restaurant has a BYO

licence and a separate dining area upstairs that seats 30, for functions. Mrs Robinson is hopeful that more people will take advantage of the amenity. She will be concentrating on redecorating over the summer, which includes new paintwork, sprucing up walls and doors and adding her own touch to the decor.
