'Close call' collision

The Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade were busy over the weekend, with a car accident on Friday, a fire on Saturday and a cat caught up a tree on Sunday. Two appliances, police and traffic officer Ian Harrison attended a 2-car col

Petrol spilled from the vehicles was washed away quickly before it could pose a hazard. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed away from the scene of the accident. The Brigade also attended a fire which broke out in the ceiling of Benchmark Building Supplies in Ohakune on Saturday evening, shortly after 6pm.
