Power Board name change
Following a recent marketing seminar in Rotorua, the King Country Electric Power Board may soon be seeking the help of the local community in finding a new, shorter and more popular name for the Board. The present name, "King .Country Electric Power Board", was thought to be clumsy, too long and not altogether appropriate for the area it serves. The two Board members who attended the marketing seminar in Rotorua, chairman Ken Street and general manager Neville Sanders, were convinced a new name had to be found as part of the Board's 'image improvement' in a de-regulat-ed free market economy.
