Clinic a success
Women's health came under scrutiny at a recent Well Women's clinic held in Raetihi, organised' by the Waimarino Health Watch Committee. Co-ordinator of the free clinic, Public Health Nurse Leigh Berry, was delighted with the response from local people - 53 women attended the clinic, which offered cervical smear (PAE) testing, instruction on breast self-examination, blood pressure and diabetes testing. The most popular service was BSE, said Mrs Berry. Those women who attended related well to the female staff and the woman doctor from Waiouru, she said.
