College to College trip

Over the past few weeks Ruapehu College students have been involved in visits to the Wanganui Community college under the LINK programme. The first group of 21 senior students spent two and a half days in Wanganui and attended the College to take, part in courses in hairdressing, art and craft, electronics, automotive engineering and computing.

Those who took advantage of this programme were highly impressed with the College and the courses it has to offer for further training and education. The second group of 20 fourth form girls were involved in "Try-a-Trade" day. Each student experienced two trades from painting and paper hanging, automotive engineering, hairdressing, printing, photography and horticulture. Five fifth form Maori stu-

dents selected by Ruapehu College were involved in a week long programme looking at Community College facilities and courses, careers, job seeking skills, life skills and visits to local areas of employment. These students were based at the Kaiwhaiki Marae north of Wanganui. All students were grateful for the opportunity to experience the variety of further educational training that Wanganui Community College can offer.
