Tremors felt

A series of tremors were experienced in the Waimarino, yesterday and on Sunday. Two tremors felt on Monday, the first at 5.18pm and another at 10.10pm, registered on both seismographs located at Whakapapa in the Tongariro National Park. Conservation Officer Rus-

sell Montgomery said none of the tremors triggered the early warning system located at the Crater Lake, which indicated they were of a regional nature rather than mountain related. Earthquakes that register over 20 on the early warning system's 0-100 scale are reported, while those registering over 50 trigger the alarm.
