Taihape train stops

Railways has reintroduced Taihape as a "stop on request" for the nightly Northerner express between Wellington and Auckland following representations from many local organisations and individuals. The stop at Taihape was withdrawn on 26 April

when most long distance rail passenger services were re-scheduled. From Friday 3 July, the Northerner has been stopping at Taihape, when required, to pick up or set down passengers. The northbound service

is scheduled to depart Taihape at 12.44am and the southward journey at 4.23 am. As operational requirements and passenger demand are liable to change from time to time, the Taihape stop will be regularly reviewed.
