Offenders with a penchant for billboards removed an eight foot by six foot sign belonging to the Ski Shed overnight Saturday. Police enquiries are continuing but anyone knowing the whereabouts of the missing sign is asked to contact the Ohakune Police Station. ★★★ A drink-driving blitz in the Waimarino on Friday night saw a number of motorists stopped and questioned. One offender will be appearing in the Ohakune District Court on Thursday 27 August. A 25 year old man will be appearing in the Ohakune District Court on 27 August on a charge of willful damage, after breaking a window in the Ruapehu Hotel over the weekend. ★ ★★ Two buses were siphoned of petrol while parked in the school bus garage at Raetihi School over the weekend. ★ ★★ A skier's holiday residence in Ballance Street, Raetihi was burgled sometime ,over the weekend. Police enquiries are continuing.
