Waiouru Military Camp got the urge for a mid-winter swim last week and tested the water of the Waiouru community swimming baths for the annual inter-unit swimming competition. Over 100 soldiers, competitors and spectators crammed the complex for an afternoon of fun and friendly rivalry. Races included standard breaststroke, free-style and backstroke, as well as several novelty heats which evoked a raucous response from spectators.
