Hockey

Raetihi Rebels were guests of the Taupo Ladies Hockey Team recently. The very sociable Raetihi team found Taupo entertainment fepots very good and socialised most of the night. with the opposition. Taupo didn't have the staying power that Raetihi did in the evening but for their game of hockey on Sunday, Taupo looked a much fitter team. A surprised Raetihi coach Compton was amazed at the performance of his team, saying it was the best they have played all season. Rebels went on to win a very long enjoyable game by 2-1. Goals scored by Sue West and Raewyn Rapana. Players of the day were Enid Windle and Raewyn Kui. Best rager of the weekend was Ethne Carmichael. Rebels have had a very successful season winning the opening and all round competition games. They will be hosting T aupo back in their home territory for the closing day toumament on 15 August.
