Early voting facilities arranged
Special voting facilities have been arranged for persons who will be unable to vote on election day, with offices being established at venues within the King Country Electorate including the following: Taumarunui - Courthouse, Miriama Street, Ph 7598, Ohakune - Courthouse, Rata Street, Ph 58-118. These offices will have been operational from Wednesday 29 July and will be open from 10am to 2pm daily. These voting facilities are designed for electors who will be outside New Zealand or their electorate on polling day, or because of some other reason would find it difficult to vote on polling day. Further information may be obtained by telephoning King Country Electoral Headquarters at Te Kuiti 88736, or the other numbers listed above. Voters may also be interested to know that the Chief Electoral Officer has introduced a Voter Information Service, at Auckland (09) 390-521. This number is toll free.
