Children of a lesser God
William Hurt stars in "Children of a Lesser God" as James Leeds, an extraordinary, hearing teacher of the deaf who faces the most complex professional and personal relationship of his life when he meets the compelling Sarah Norman
(Marlee Matlin). Through Sarah, he comes to the realization that we can never possess what we set free. Marlee Matlin plays Sarah Norman, formerly one of The Governor Kittridge School for the Deafs
most gifted students, who has taken permanent, isolated refuge at the institution as a cleaning person in' "Children of a Lesser God". Piper Laurie is Mrs Norman, who has not seen her deaf daughter, Sarah, in eight years. She keeps herself tight, her existence structured and has reinterpreted the past to avoid facing the unfinished things in her life. She lives in a state of guilt, for she feels she has failed her handicapped child.
