Puppies abandoned

Ohakune resident artist Richard Barraud was working late at Nobby's ski hire at the Ohakune Junction on Sunday night when he discovered seven eight-week old alsatian pups abandoned on the doorstep. Mr Barraud said he heard a car door slam at about midnight and a vehicle drive away. He found the animals, believed to be between 7-8 weeks old, dumped in amongst some restaurant rubbish. Mr Barraud and local SPCA member Rosalind Donald were enraged by the plight of the pups and are interested to hear from anyone with information about the owner. The pups were placed in foster homes, pending adoption by suitable owners.
