'Make to measure' shop opened
Clowns Leisurewear of Wanganui opened the doors of their brand new outlet in Ohakune with a champagne and hors d'oeuvres evening last week. Business partners Deborah Palamountain and Rose Toohill, both of Wanganui, have had a shop in Londontown for the past 12 months and decided to expand the business. They offer a 'make-to-measure' service which allows customers a choice of a wide colour range in Clown's own distinctive line of leisure pants and sweatshirts. They promise delivery of the garment in one
and a half weeks from the time the order is placed. All sizes are catered for in this way, according to Mrs Palamountain. A team of three machinists work on the garments in Wanganui, with Mrs Toohill working as pattern cutter.
Jan Coleman of Raetihi is in sole charge of the Ohakune store which is open six days a week. The team are hopeful of operating the business long-term in the Waimarino and are optimistic that their range of leisurewear will be well received.
