"Strongarm" competes in Auckland

The Waimarino's arm wrestling champion Craig "Banjo" Patterson recently travelled to Auckland to compete in the national DB Strongarm Challenge. The event was held at the Gluepot nightclub on Saturday 4 July. Although Banjo was unplaced in the event he said it was an enjoyable trip, with DB paying for his transport and accommodation. Banjo retains his title as Central Districts lightweight division champion, which he won at Palmerston North earlier in the year. His Ohakune sponsors were Carbichain and Machinery Supplies, Hot Lava and Junction Ski Shop.
