Waimarino Golf
The event held at the Waimarino Golf Club on Sunday 28 was the President's team v the Captain's team, won by the Captain's team 8 games to 4. President Terry Geraghty, graciously presented the shield to Captain Arthur Berridge who received it with delight after being thoroughly beaten by Terry in their individual match. The sponsors for the day were Junction Ski Shop and Vanity Fair and their contribution, gratefully received, was put to good use by the successful golfers of the day. They were: Seniors T. Geraghty 67 nett, D. Windle 69, J. Ennis 70, P. Goldfinch 71, M.J.
Kennedy 71. Junior s C. Turner 68 nett, F. Bright 69, B. Graves 69, I. Strachan 69. Twos A.R. Brown 17th, S. Magee 3rd. The roarer's mug was won by T. Geraghty. The Club Pennant Team to play at Linton next Sunday will be: J. Ennis, D. Windle, T. Tapp, S. Magee, J. Summerhays, P. Goldfinch. Results for Waimarino Ladies Golf 24/6/87 are as follows: 2nd Qualifying Round Bronze 1 A. Law 95, J. Taylor 94, H. Woollett 95. Bronze II B. Berridge 104, J. Windle 103, E. Rush 106. K. Greenwood a two, raffle won by A. Pritt. Elder's Sponsorship won by A. Law.
