Raetihi Police are investigating a smash and grab that occurred in Raetihi at 1.15am, Monday morning. Offenders smashed a display window of Farmers Trading Company, Seddon Street. Offenders searched the premises but left without taking anything. ★ ★★ Police enquiries are continuing into the theft of a 12 volt battery that was removed from a Railways' truck parked in the yards of the Ohakune Railway Station, overnight Wednesday. ★ ★★ Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade and Police attended a car accident that occurred at 10.30pm on Saturday night, on Ohakune Road, Raetihi. The vehicle had apparently rolled and came to rest on its roof in the middle of the road.
