N.Z. Deerstalkers celebrate 50 years
The Deerstalkers' Association celebrates its 50th anniversary next month and the occasion is to be marked with the use of a special pictorial date stamp at the Taupo Area Post Office on 2 July. The anniversary of the association coincides with its 39th annual conference and the event will be celebrated with a ceremony in Taupo and publication of a history of the association. The history called "The
Deerstalkers" was written by Phillip Holden of Wellington and will be launched by the GovernorGeneral Sir Paul Reeves. Those wanting letters cancelled with the special date stamp but are unable to mail them in Taupo should forward their stamped addressed covers in an outer envelope to reach the Area Manager, New Zealand Post, Post Office, Taupo by 29 June. The outer envelope should carry sufficient postage and be marked "50th Anniversary Deerstalkers' Association Date Stamp Covers".
