Mathex

Thirty-six mathematics whizz kids from Ruapehu College matched their wits against pupils from secondary schools from the Wanganui region in this year's Mathex competition, held last week at Wanganui High School. A total of 76 teams from forms 4-7 of the colleges competed on Wednesday and Forms 1-3 on Thursday. Ohakune and Raetihi Primary Schools both entered teams in the competition for the first time this year. Ruapehu College enjoyed some success, with one 5th Form tcam placed fourth in iheir respective category and one fourth placing for a 7 th Form team.
