Early on Saturday morning Ohakune police arrested a Taihape man aged in his early 20's after a plate-glass window in the Goldfinch Street premises of Ohakune Shioes Ltd was smashed. He will appear in the Ohakune District Court on Thursday 25 June to face a charge of intentional damage. Last Thursday Ohakune police arrested a 16-year old Raetihi youth on two charges of burglary committed at Raetihi. He will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court on 25 June to face charges. Ohakune police are investigating the burglary of foodstuffs whiqh were taken from a food-shed behind the newly-opened health food shop in Clyde Street, Ohakune. Last Friday evening police from Ohakune, Raetihi, Taihape and Wanganui executed a search warrant on a number of premises in Raetihi. As a result several persons will be appearing in the Ohakune District Court on 25 June to face a variety of charges: A 25-year old woman will face two charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act: 1) possession of instruments for the purpose of committing an offence 2) allowing premises to be allo wed for the commission of an offence. A 22-year old man will face one charge of possession of cannabis and one charge of unlawful possession a fire arm. A 20-year old man will face a charge of possession of cannabis. A man in his 30's will face a charge of allowing his premises to be used for an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act and one charge of acquiring a controlled pesticide unlawfully. A woman in her 30's will appear on a charge of possession of cannabis.
