cont'd trom p.2 Leadership and assertiveness courses she carried over to secondary school and initiated leadership training courses for Form 7 pupils. She was a member of the National PPTA Civic Advisory Committee while in Auckland and has kept the valuable contacts she made during that time. She has also assisted with staff training in Rotorua and Taupo and was involved in women's education in the area, as well as with national courses on how to implement health programmes into schools. Mrs Allomes involved herself in promoting community and public awareness of health issues including present day AIDS awareness. Her involvement with clubs periods at the college saw her as fashion design and aerobics dance teacher as well as teacher of continental cooking. Mrs Allomes said she is leaving teaching for new . challenges. For the present she will be kept busy running the 'Homestead' at Rangataua - the Allomes' own lodge, as well as assisting physiotherapist husband Don with bookwork for his clinics. Mrs Allomes said she will not be bored during her temporary 'retirement' from teaching. "It's a very stimulating environment - there's always lots happening," she said.
