Chief Nursing Officer with the Wanganui Area Health Board, Sheryl Smail, made a special trip

to convey thanks from the Board. All the speakers expressed sadness at the occasion of Sister Longcroft's retirement and commended her on "a job well done." Sister Longcroft was presented with a silver drinks tray and six Royal Doulton crystal tumblers, with an inscription on the tray to express the sentiments of the people of the Waimarino.
