Wanganui AA says "No" to merger

The Council of the Automobile Association (Wanganui) Inc. has resolved not to merge their interests with a number of AAs to form a new Automobile Association, but rather preserve the status quo while continuing to work towards one AA for New Zealand. The President Dr Robin M. MacLachlan said today that the Council preferred to put its weight behind one AA rather than the interim step of the fusion of several AAs. In the meantime closer liaison with AAs based at New Plymouth, Hawera and Masterton will ensure standardisation of services and co-ordinated policies for the benefit of members in the lower North Island.
