Riders receive help for championships
Rodney McCoubrie and Tania Taylor, two riders irom the Waimarino Pony Club who are on their »ay to Avondale in Auckland to attend the NZPCA Championships this month, have received a bonus from Elders Pastoral in Raetihi. Manager of Elders, Jeremy Trebilcock, presented the riders with two sacks of Sweetfeed, value about $60, for their horses during their time at the competitions. Tania 16, and Rodney 12, were selected to ride for the 1 6 years and under team last month. Since their selection, both Ohakune and Raetihi Pony Clubs have been active raising money to cover costs of the trip. President of the Waimarino Pony Club, Claudia Mason, said the donation of the feed was a "fantastic gesture" by the business and thanked the community for their support. Rodney McCoubrie is the youngest rider to be selected for the Nationals this year.
