Sponsorship for Waimarino golf

Sponsorship for Club day golf has now been achieved through the cooperation and good graces of the business houses of Ohakune and Raetihi. The Sponsors for Sunday 10 May were Dekker Machinery and Ohakune Butchery and their help is much appreciated by the members. Sundays haggle was a Bisque Bogey, a new departure for mens golf at Waimarino and a little confusing for some. The results were: Seniors: Tom Spry 5up, B. Drinkwater & M. J. Kennedy 3up. Tom Spry won the roarers mug for this. Juniors: Nathan Donghi 5

up, I. Strachan, T. Donghi and J. Hammond 4 up. Ali Robinson scored the only two and also won the junior Birds Nest — a very successful day for him. Hole In One: President Terry Geraghty scored an ace on No. 9 hole here recently — a great shot and our congratulations to him. Thursday afternoon golf commences this Thursday afternoon at 12.30pm 14 May and all are welcome. The D.B. sponsored 72 hole tournament will be held this coming weekend and there is still room for players who wish to enter — contact Mr John Summerhays, 54601, Raetihi.
