Waimarino ANZAC's remembered

Anzac Day services in the Waimarino were well attended last weekend. A dawn parade held at

Army Training Group, Waiouru was attended by a large contingent of soldiers and their families.

In Raetihi about 150 people turned out to the Waimarino RSA Hall for a dawn parade including

scouts, volunteer fire brigade members, soldiers from Fourth Supply Company, Waiouru and civilians. The last post was played by members of the Waimarino Brass Band. Girl Guides, Brownies, Cubs and Scouts were part of the 150-plus crowd who attended the morning service at the memorial gate in Clyde St, Ohakune. Lieutenant Commander Richard Jackson from HMNZS Irirangi and HMNZS Irirangi naval communications staff were also present at the Ohakune service.
