Raetihi street numbers

If you are confused by Raetihi's 'unique' numbering system, where two residences can display the same number on their letter boxes in the same street, the problem may soon be remedied. The Iatest on-going community project being run by Raetihi School in conjunction with the Borough Council is the sale of street numbers and nameplates. Principal Geoff Lovegrove said the school expects to receive about 200 orders for numbers at $1.50 each and nameplates at $6.50. So far only about 50 orders have been received, while 100 or more are needed to qualify for bulk discount. The numbers and nameplates are produced in Hamilton and orders will be delivered by senior classes children within a month of receiving the order.
