20 years of polocrosse
The Kaitieke Polocrosse Club celebrated 20 years of activities last weekend in the form of a 20th Anniversary Carnival. The Kaitieke club was the first polocrosse club to be formed in New Zealand and has gone from strength to strength since its small beginning. An original member, Daphne Taylor and one of the club's newest members Angela Taituma had the honour of making the first cut in the anniversary cake. Twenty-onetrophies, numerous ribbons and other prizes were presented to the winning individuals and teams from the weekend 's events. RESULTS: 3 rd Divisiort Runner-up: Te Maire; winner Kaitieke 3.
Best One (3rd Division) Dean Billington; Best Two Lauren Taituma; Best Three Lisa Taituma. 2nd Division runner-up; Waimarino; winner Kakatahi. Best One (2nd Division) Sue Goldfinch; Best Two Jean Grant; Best Three Terry Beatson. lst Division Runner-up: Kaitieke 2; winner Kurutau. Best One David Bolsted; Best Two Greg Gloyne; Best Three Ashley Christian. Veterans runner-up: Icicles; winner Tomcats. Veterans individual runner-up: Don Siemonik; winner Richard Koorey. 'Hic-Cup', awarded to winning team of Presidents' V Secretarys' teams. Winner Joan Petersen's secretary team. A life memberhip certificate was presented to Ken Malcolm, for his contribution to the club over the last twenty years. Mr Malcolm was the club's first president and served six years in the position as well as 12 years on the committee.
