Move to make room for flowers
Dawn Donaldson 'sflorist shop ' Alpine Flowers' in Ohakune was in desperate need of more space earlier this year, so the business recently packed up its pot plants and moved to a bigger shop in Clyde Street. Mrs Donaldson first set up shop in Ohakune's Cedar Mall one year ago this month. The tiny shop tucked between a takeaway and a fashion clothing outlet was initially ideal but it soon became apparent that more floor space was needed. Mrs Donaldson's new shop is bigger and lighter with plenty of valuable storage space for stock. As well as her usual stocks of pot plants, cane, live and imitation flowers Mrs Donaldson hopes to soon stock native plants and old roses. Her specialties include bridal bouquets and arrangements, baby packages made to order and a 'dial-a-basket' service, where the customer chooses what they would like to enclose in a decorative basket for a special occasion. 'Alpine Flowers' is also an agency for Teleflora.
