College athletics
A group of Ruapehu College athletes took part in the Wanganui secondary schools athletics competitions held at Cooks Gardens on 25 March. Teams from 13 colleges competed, with about 35 Ruapehu College students taking part. Ruapehu College competitiors' placings are as follows: Adam Farmer: 1st Senior Boys 400m; Alan Prince: I st Shot Put and High Jutnp Intermediate Boys; Janine Mcllroy : Ist Senior Girls
Discus; Junior Boy s Relay : Finished Ist. Su: i Mcllroy: 2nd Intermediate Girls Triple Jump; Raewyn Evans: 2nd Senior Girls Long Jump; Shane Edwards: 2nd Junior Boys l.ong Jump; Maya Patiison: 2nd Junior Boys Triple Jump. Janine Siephens: 3rd Open Girls Triple Jump; Raewyn Evans: 3rd Senior Girls High Jump; Renay Paipa: 3rd Junior Girls Shot Put. Maya Panison: 4th Junior Boys long Jump; Mark Evans: 4th Senior Boys 1500m; Alan Prince: 4th Open Boys Javelin.
