'40-hour famine' in Waiouru

Sixty-two pupils from Standard two up to Form two of Waiouru Primary School had a sleep-over at the school during last weekend's World Vision ' 40 Hour Famine' to raise money for the immunisation of the world's children. The children and a number of parents and teachers whiled away the 40 hour fast with various activities,

including trampolining, reading, singing or simply basking in the weekend's sunshine. A favourite amongst the children was a pair of mini motor bikes that were in use for most of Saturday morning on the school's top field. Funds raised in New Zealand from the '40-hour Famine ' will go towards immunising children in New Guinea and Africa.
