Showhome opened at Miro Park
Ohakune builder Peter Richards opened his Lockwood Showhome in Miro Park last week with the help of mayor Bill Taylor. The showhome is a three bedroom, 97 square metre house designed as a ski chalet, with drying rooin and ski storage facilities incorporated. The chalet was designed by a Lockwood architect incorporating Peter Richards' ideas. Theadvantages of a Lockwood as a ski chalet are the low maintenance aspect, the spaciousness of the designs, and the good insulation properties of a Lockwood. The chalet has two separate bedrooms and a third in the form cf a loft, which can be used as a master bedroom or a large bunk room. The living area of the house is open plan, with a natural timber spiral staircase from the loft down to the lounge and dining area. A deck opens out from the
dining area looking towards the mountain, and the kitchen is divided from the dining area by a bench with a dishwasher fitted. With the usual Lockwood natural timber and large floor to ceiling windows on the north side there is a warm, light atmosphere in the house, and with the furnishings and fittings chosen a stylish image has been created.
Having completed the chalet Peter Richards and his team are now building a large Lockwood ski lodge also in Miro Park. The showhome will be
open for public viewing from l-4pm Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with Bev Kerr looking after enquiries.
