Fact or Fiction
Whether we live in a large or a small community, gossip is a fact of life. It is the spreading of misinformed information detrimental to the good name of an individual behind that person's back. We need to know about each other if a community is going to work together. A lot of information generated informally can be very helpful. There is often a fine line between a community build-
mg up information and gossip. Every community needs people with the wisdom required to handle gossip. People who are clearthinking who can sort out fact from fiction, people with sensitivity to inform the individual and then leave it alone. Where such people ex.ist and are informed the bad effects of gossip can be miinimized and the truth can be put to good effect for the benefit of all. People with such wisdom are a blessing to a communitv. Mav we use them well.
