Pony Club riders from Ohakune and Raetihi competed at the Owhango Sports meeting on 7 March. Transport for the 27 riders and their horses was made possible by a donation from the Waimarino A & P Association and the assistance of local trucks and drivers. Waimarino competitors' results are as follows: PONIES 137.5cm & UNDER Open Pony: I. S. Williams (Aderyn du); 2. M. McGregor (SWS); 4. R. Tavlor (Hobgoblin). Best Paced & Mlannered: I . S. Williams. Best Rider 7yrs & under: I M. McGregor: 2. S. Williams. Best Rider 8yrs & under 11: 3. R. Duigan; 4. R. Taylor. Consolation: I. I. Haglcy (Colourcd l.ady): 2. K. Wilson (Coppcrlea): 3. M. Eye Opener Pony: 3. T. -Taylor (Riccochct). Pony Hunter: I. T. Taylor: 3 R. McCoubrie (Piccadilly). Champion Horse Jump: 4 F. Fvans (Jumbo). Champion Pony Jump: I. T. T aylor (Riccochct): 3. R. McCoubrie (Piccadilly). Novice & C. Grade Pony: I T. Taylor (Riccochct). Twenty-four of the riders went on to the Ongarue Pony Club on Sunday 8 March. Waimarino riders' results are as follows: Open Section: Tanya Taylor was placed 4th in the dressage and was 3rd overall. Novice Section: Christine Reynolds won the dressage section. Roic McCiill was placed 4th overall. Janine Mcllroy was placed 3rd. Beginner Section: Rachel James was 2nd in the Dressage and Katrina Wilson 4th. Overall Rachel James was 2nd and Katrina Wilson 3rd.
