"Fantastic Facility" in Taumarunui

Taumarunui^ General Motors dealer, Turaki Motors, was visited by the managing director of General Motors, New Zealand, Mr Ray Halliday and saies director Mr George Beattie, last week. Turaki Motors has recently carried out major renovations to their premises, putting a substantial investment into Taumarunui. The two visitors were in town to launch the new Commodore line in the King Country, and while here had a closer look at the development work at Turaki Motors. Both Mr Halliday and Mr Beattie agreed that it was a "fantastic facility" and a tremendous benefit to Taumarunui. "It is a mark of their faith in the future of the business and of their confidence in General Motors," said Mr Halliday. Mr Beattie said the market share in Taumarunui was high and commented that the Turaki Motors dealership was performing "outstandingly". As part of the launching journalists were given an opportunity to test drive a fleet of fifteen different variations of the new Commodore range on a circuit

beginning in New Plymouth and taking in Wanganui and the Chateau. At the Chateau the journalists met General

Motors' representatives who addressed the press contingent and were available for questioning.
