Double win for bowlers
Ohakune Women's Bowling Club notched up two more convincing wins against opposition for the Pluck Cup on Thursday and the Simonsen's Cup on Sunday. Waverley challenged for the Pluck Cup this time around with the final score 23-13 to Ohakune. The players, Audrey Nation (skip), Vi Brown (3), Betty Hammond (2) and Wai Brown (lead), worked well as a team throughout the entire game and managed to score 5 points during one end. Taihape met Ohakune on Sunday for the Simonsen's Cup which again was won resoundingly by the home team with a score of 23-14. The team was Audrey
Nation (skip), Vi Brown (3), Bernice Cochrane (2) and Rita Kaiwhare (lead). Four players travelled to Palmerston North on Sunday afternoon to compete in the Manawatu Open Tournament. Audrey Nation, Betty Hammond, Rita Kaiwhare and June Foster will be at the tournament until Thursday.
