Ohakune police arrested a 19 year old youth on 3 February on charges of burglary. He is alleged to have broken into an Ohakune business in April 1986. He will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 26 February. ★ ★ ★ On Wednesday 4 February Ohakune police arrested a 23 year old Raetihi man for the theft of a car radio and car consol unit from a car parked on private property in Ohakune. He will appear in the District court on 26 February. ★ ★ ★ A 39 year old man was arrested by Ohakune police on Friday 6 February. He appeared in the Wanganui District court Monday 9 February and pleaded guilty to 12 charges of burglary. Eleven of the burglaries were in Ohakune and one in Rangataua. He has been remanded in custody. ★ ★ ★ Ohakune police recovered a quantity of stolen goods from an address in Ohakune Tuesday 3 February after exercising a search warrant. All items are easily identifiable. Items include: I 'Exel' backpack sprayer; 1 20 litre drum of Roundup; 1 'Cambran' pressure garden sprayer with hose and fittings; 1 old canvas knapsack; 1 'fairydown' sleeping bagcover marked J. Griffin; 1 large valve-spring compressor; 1 pair of 'record clipper' bolt cutters; 1 spear gun with two spears; 1 torque wrench; 1 pinch bar; several packets of plastic 'nags labelled 'Atatu, W. Godfrey and Sons'; I tyre repair implement; 1 roll of plastic. Enquiries concerning these items should be made at the Ohakune Police Statiorj. ★ ★ ★ A motorcycle collided with a truck on Ruapehu road last Thursday. The motorcycle was extensively damaged but no one was injured.
