Ohakune's newest fountain

Ohakune's newest fountain was officially opened recently by Colin Turner of Winstones, Pulp Industries. A barbecue was enjoyed on 29 January by well wishers' including many work mates of Gary Thomason, the owner and builder of the structure, who works as an engineer for Winstone Pulp Industries. The fountain is a large construction of rocks from the Rangipo underground power station. The pond covers 30 square metres and is set in a landscaped garden. Jets spill water from the rock wall into the pond while smaller jets spray water from the pond onto the wall. The fountain is on the property of Gary Thomason in Arawa Street next to the Lion's Den.
