Army waterpolo winners

The long build-up period payed off for the Waiouru waterpolo team when they defeated the other army regional teams in the first week of December. Four teams competed for the Dyson trophy, held by the Northern Army Region

over the past two years. Waiouru narrowly defeated Northern in their first game 13-1.2 and drew 13 all in the final, taking the trophy by the skin of their - teeth. The final game was well supported by spectators from Waiouru primary school camp staff and

families. 1 ne overal' results were Waiouru 1st, Northern 2nd, Central 3rd, and Southern 4th. The Army team was selected from the regional players and includes seven Waiouru players. They will go on to play at the Interservices competition and Nat-

ional championships in Auckland. A social waterpolo competition will start again in Waiouru about April. Anyone interested in playing or forming a team should contact the pool supervisor or Sgt. Phillip Smith at the School of Administration 56-111 extn. 674.
