Buses to Pipiriki for Park opening
People living in the Waimarino who intend to travel to Pipiriki for the opening of the Whanganui River Park this weekend will be able to catch a bus down instead of taking their own vehicles. Sir Paul Reeves is officiating at the ceremony and around 600 people are expected to attend. One or two buses will be leaving from Taumarunui in
the morning and will detour to pick up people from Ohakune and the surrounding area. The buses are expected to arrive at Pipiriki at around 10.30am and will be leaving at around 4.30pm that afternoon. The buses will help alleviate the problem of parparking and traffic congestion after the ceremony and will also mean that the township's centre will be kept clear. For more information phone Ranger John Lythgoe 54-631.
