Don Sattler Rural Fire Officer WAIOURU SWIMMING CLUB Members are advised that Learn-to-Swim classes for 1 987 begin at Burns Pool on Monday 2nd Feb., from 3.30pm. Please note earlier starting time and change of days. Learn-to-Swim is now held on Mondays and Tuesdays. Swimming Club begins again on Tuesday 3rd Feb. at 5.30pm. Tuesday nights are time trials and Wednesday is training night. A plea to parents — Please come along and support your children. We need people. to assist on Tuesdays with time keeping, and on Wednesdays to help with coaching. You don't need previous experience. You don't need to be able to swim! A folder of lesson plans is being prepared to help volunteers to help run the coaching sessions. If sufficient interest is shown a weekend basic coaching course can be arranged. We have excellent facilities and finance. All we need now is more adult involvement. Without more adults to help the club may have to close. An informal meetlng wlll be held at 6.30pm on Wednesday 3rd February after swimming club to dlscuss the future of the club. All interested parents are urged to attend.
