Karioi Camp

On Tuesday 25 November, the Form 1 and 2 Syndicate went for a twonight camp at the Karioi Domain. We left school about 9am and all arrived shortly after. We had a talk about the

boundaries, etc. and then did some Science. Sometime after that we had lunch and then we pitched up our little army pup tents. We did some compass work and then got into groups to do a little compass practice. It poured down with rain, which meant we were stuck inside for the rest of the day, but at night we did some dancing which was okay if you had good ears and could hear the music. We had supper and went to bed in our tents. It was raining the next day but we did an orienteering course and went eeling, which was choice. We sang that night, which was enough to put you to sleep, apart from one song which was mostly screaming — no it wasn't Thriller. The next day we did a real choice Confidence Course. A lot of co-operation between team members was needed to help each other along. We then packed up, had lunch, gathered up some wood and went home from a very enjoyable camp.
