TV Licence check

The local Television Licence Inspector has reported that the response from local householders has been 'pleasing'. All of the Raetihi-Pipiriki-Ohakune- Rangataua district has been canvassed and householder responses to the Chief Post Office at Wanganui have flowed in at a steady pace. A door-to-door canvass of the housing area at Waiouru gets under way this

week and will continue until either the 12th or 19th of December. Apparently some of the "excuses" for not having a licence are quite hilarious, including one of the lady who didn't need one because "1 haven't paid for the set yet" and, in a more sobering vein, a personal protest from a lady who wasn't going to get a licence until a 'Maori channel' was established.
