Young champs

Waiouru Primary School's 'Round the Mountains' relay team proved that training and hard work pays off when they won the children's section of the 100-mile race last Saturday. The 1 1 team members under the guidance of teacher-cum-coach Nigel Hope, had been in training since Easter. This is the fourth consecutive year the school has entered a team, and they've proved that the right preparation does the trick. The children ran two fivemile legs each and completed the run in 13% hours — not the fastest time run by the school, but very satisfactory nonetheless.
