WAIOURU BRIEFS
A Venturer Unit, open to all young men and women aged between 1 5 and 1 9, is to be restarted in Waiouru. Those interested are asked to contact Murray Aston. ★ ★ ★ The New Zealand Armv will have a Recruiting agent at the Education Section (next to the Library) from 9.00am to 12 noon on Friday 28 November. ★ ★ ★ Because of lack of Kennel facilities in Waiouru the Rangitikei SPCA has set up a 'Feed-a-pet' service during the holiday season, Pet owners will be asked before they go away, to provide the food which will then be fed to their animals by SPCA members for a small fee. Pet owners or animal lovers who are prepared to help with this scheme are asked to contact the local SPCA. ★ ★ ★ In last week's edition of the Army's 'Empty Page' a report on a cricket match between Waiouru and Marton Suburbs contained the following description of what must have been a truly extraordinary game: "On Saturday, Waiouru bowled Suburbs all out for a modest 131 wickets"!
