Ohakune Women's Bowling Club and Castlecliff Women's Bowling Club met on the Ohakune club green last week in the second clash for the coveted Simonsen's Cup. Ohakune retained the Cup when they beat off a challenge by Rapanui recently with the final score 19-18. The Castlecliff team of T. Lett (skip), P. Knuth (3), F. Whale (2) and G. Powell

(lead) met Ohakune team A. Nation (skip), V. Brown (3), J. Foster (2) and B. Hammond (lead), in what was described as a very even match. Ohakune led throughout the game with some excitement in the final end when the challengers looked like tying the score. The final score was 16-14, with Ohakune retaining the cup once more. Their next challenge is against Waverley within the next two weeks.
