Students perform well in oratory contest

Three senior pupils from Waiouru Primary School travelled to Taihape recently to take part in the district's annual oratory contest. Jarrod Longley, Suzie Flavell and Phillipa Dodson, placed first, second and third respectively in their own school's senior speech contest. took part in the Taihape contest and performed creditably. Jarrod was placed second and Phillipa third, overall. Suzie was unplaced, but

showed tremendous promise. Children from Waiouru Primary School took up crayons. pencilsand paints recently to create posters for the Perth BNZ Challenge Cup in a competition organised bv the Waiouru branch of the BNZ. The competition was divided into various categories with individual areas for junior and senior pupils. Results were: Jl and J2 - Aaron Longley (1), Sarah Ottaway (2), Tracey Fleming (3).

Highly commended in Standard's Three and Four - Jenny Nelson and Sonya Phillips.
