Photographic competition extended
A nation-wide photographic competition is just one of the many enterprising projects to be run in conjunction with next year's National Park's Centennial. 'People in Parks' is the theme of the competition which allows for a wide range of subject matter including recreation, park facilities, people and human interaction with the environment. The competition which is being sponsored by Kodak New Zealand Limited was originally to close at the end of October 1986, but that date has been extended until the end of January next year. Ruapehu Alpine Lifts on the Whakapapa side of Mount Ruapehu are running the competition for the purposes of promoting * Whakapapa and the Tonga-
riro National Park with the winning prints being placed in the Park's publicity brochure. Last year's photo competition received between 70 to 80 entries. This year's placegetters will receive a season's ski pass at Whakapapa valued at $400, and the overall winner a plaque presented by Kodak. Skiwi marketing manager stationed in Auckland,
Scott Lee, RAL senior manager Dave Mazey and several Park officials will judge the entries which are divided into three categories: adults over the age of 17; 17 years of age and under and school entries in the^ form of portfolios. Entries may be black and white or colour prints with emphasis on people enjoying themselves with a backdrop of a National Park.
