Hole in one at Waimarino golf club

At the Waimarino Golf Club on Saturday, a visiting golfer from Titirangi Golf Club, Ron Duffy, scored a hole in one on number nine hole. Barry Drinkwater won our haggle with 42 points scored. Results of play on 1 4 September were: Stableford competition - Senior: T. Geraghty 42, J. Ennis 41, R. Pearson 39. T. Geraghty scored a 2 on No 9. Junior - B. Goile 36, K. McDougall 36, D. Hall 34.

The Cascade Cup competition was played at the Pearce Park course at Waiouru last week, between teams of eight players, from Waiouru, Ruapehu, Taihape and Waimarino. The result was a win to Waiouru, a case of "horses for courses", but congratulations are due to them. Waimarino came second and will contest the Cup again at their home course, next year.
