Collection agency for bad debts
The Ohakune Borough Council is expected to accept the offer made by the Bay Collection Agency regarding the collection of overdue rate arears. The company wrote to the borough's finance committee earlier this month, offering their services in gathering overdue rates amounting to around $25,000 in the Ohakune Borough. The finance committee has called for a report giving more information, but Ohakune's Mayor Bill Taylor. said that councillors had expressed keen interest in the idea. It is expected that the committee will invite a representative of the agency to come and talk to councillors regarding the agency's services.
